Bunk Bed & Cabin Bed Assembly
Children's bunk beds, cabin beds, loft beds, midsleepers, and high sleepers — assembled safely and securely.
Typical cost: £90–£250 depending on bed type
All our assemblers are trained to British Standards for nursery furniture and children's beds — including bunk beds, loft beds, cabin beds, midsleepers, and high sleepers — via flatpack.org.uk.
What We Assemble
We build all types of children's elevated beds from all suppliers. Safety is the priority on every job.
Bunk Beds
Standard bunk beds with two sleeping levels. All sizes — single over single, single over double. All suppliers including IKEA, Argos, The Range, Next, Dunelm, Wayfair, and more. Guard rails and ladders fitted and secured.
Cabin Beds
Mid-height cabin beds with storage underneath — drawers, shelves, and desk combinations. The structure must be rigid and stable. All fixings checked and tightened.
Loft Beds
High loft beds with workspace, storage, or play area underneath. IKEA STUVA, KURA, and similar. Guard rails must be correctly fitted and secure.

Midsleepers
Mid-height sleepers — higher than a standard bed but lower than a full loft bed. Often include a tent or canopy. Tent frames must be correctly secured to the bed structure.
High Sleepers
Full-height high sleeper beds with desk, wardrobe, or sofa underneath. The tallest and most complex children's beds. Structural rigidity is critical.

Triple Sleepers
Three-level bunk beds. Rare but we build them. Every fixing checked and every guard rail secured before we leave.

Our Safety Commitment
Children's elevated beds carry a higher safety responsibility than any other flat pack furniture. A poorly assembled bunk bed or loft bed is a serious risk.
- Every fixing is tightened to the correct torque — not just finger-tight
- Guard rails are tested before we leave — we pull on them firmly
- Ladders are checked for stability and correct angle
- Structural rigidity is checked by applying load to the upper bunk
- We follow British Standards guidance for children's furniture assembly
- We do not leave a job until we are satisfied the bed is safe

Why Bunk Bed Assembly Goes Wrong
- Instructions are often poorly drawn — the correct sequence is not obvious
- Cam locks must be tightened in the right order or panels bow and joints loosen over time
- Guard rails have specific fixing points — fitting them to the wrong holes is a safety risk
- Ladder angle must be set correctly — too steep and it is difficult to climb; too shallow and it takes up too much floor space
- High sleepers require two people to hold panels upright during assembly
- Tent frames on midsleepers must be secured to the bed frame, not just rested on it
We have been building children's beds since 2004. We know every common mistake and every product-specific quirk. We check every fixing before we leave.
