Quoting & Information

What information do you need to quote?

We need the supplier name, product name or code, and your postcode. Product codes help us look items up in our database quickly. The more detail you provide, the more accurate your quote. You can also copy and paste links of each product online.

Can I get a quote for building my furniture online?

Yes! Use our online quote engine to get a fixed-price quote for the furniture you want assembling. We use a units-based pricing system where every item in our database of 30,000+ products has been assigned units based on complexity and assembly time. We aim to respond swiftly to your enquiry (within 24 hours if outside office hours).

What happens after I submit the quote form?

After you submit your enquiry: 1) We email you a fixed-price quote within 24 hours, 2) You can book online using our automated booking process or give us 3 preferred dates, 3) We confirm the appointment within 1 hour during normal opening hours, 4) We send you payment details and booking confirmation.

Pricing & Charges

What is the minimum charge?

Our minimum charge is £50. This covers the call-out fee and basic assembly time. Larger jobs offer better value as the call-out fee is spread across more items.

How do you calculate the price?

We use a units-based system. Every item in our database of 30,000+ products has been assigned units based on complexity and assembly time. We multiply the units by our rate (£0.57-£0.63 depending on region), add a variable call-out fee (£15-£35), and provide you with a fixed-price quote.

Why is the call-out fee variable?

The call-out fee varies based on your location relative to our existing work schedule. If we're already working nearby on a particular day, the fee will be lower. This helps us cluster work efficiently, reduce travel costs and pollution, and pass savings on to you.

Do you charge by the hour?

No, we don't charge hourly rates. We use a fixed units-based system so you know exactly what you'll pay before we arrive. This is fairer than hourly charging where costs can jump unexpectedly.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. The price you see in your quote is the price you pay. We don't add extra charges for tools, travel time, or standard assembly work. Wall-fixing is quoted separately if required.

How long will it take to build the furniture?

The time to build your furniture will depend on how complicated it is. A small item such as a three-drawer desk pedestal can take much longer than a large wardrobe. Our units-based system accounts for this complexity, and your quote reflects the expected time.

Policies & Exclusions

Do you remove waste packaging - cardboard etc?

No, it is company policy not to remove waste. If you dispose of the waste packaging yourself it is classed as household waste, which you have already paid for your local council to take via your community charge. If we remove waste it becomes commercial waste and is subject to legal requirements and the Duty of Care. All businesses that remove waste have a legally bound duty of care to dispose of it in a proper manner and keep detailed records. This would add excessive costs (up to £100) to our service. We can flatten boxes to make disposal easier for you.

Can you fit my new kitchen?

We don't fit kitchens. Fitted kitchens require electrical and plumbing work which is outside our scope. If you need a kitchen fitter, we suggest you contact one of the companies listed under Kitchen Fitters in your local paper or yellow pages.

Do you fit bedrooms?

We don't fit bedrooms in the same way as kitchens (fitted bedroom furniture with built-in units). However, we do assemble freestanding bedroom furniture like wardrobes, beds, chests of drawers, and bedside tables.

Will you modify furniture to fit my room?

Unfortunately any modification to furniture will invalidate the manufacturer's or retailer's warranty. You will find that the required modification is likely to weaken the structure of the item. In our opinion any modification is ill advised and against company policy.

Wall Fixing & Safety

Do you attach furniture to the wall?

Yes, we offer wall-fixing as a separate quoted service. Wall-fixing is essential for safety, especially for tall wardrobes and children's furniture. We assess your wall type and use appropriate fixings. This service is quoted separately as it requires additional time and specialist fixings.

Why is wall-fixing important?

Wall-fixing prevents furniture from tipping over, which is a serious safety risk especially for children. Many furniture-related accidents can be prevented by properly securing tall or heavy items to the wall. We strongly recommend wall-fixing for all tall wardrobes, bookcases, and children's furniture.

Coverage & Service Areas

What areas do you cover?

We have over 100 assemblers who build furniture nationwide, covering 90% of UK postcodes. Our network includes all major cities and most towns. Enter your postcode in the quote form to check if we cover your area.

How much room do you need to build my furniture?

You will normally need a flat area such as the floor that is the size of the finished furniture laid on its back plus a working area of at least 600mm (2 ft). The area should be as close as possible to the final position of the finished item. For high wardrobes, please accurately measure the ceiling height - we occasionally attend jobs where the unit will simply not fit.

When will you arrive?

We will arrive within your appointment start time (1 hour window, e.g., 2-3pm). We confirm appointments within 1 hour during normal opening hours. We also offer weekend and evening work for your convenience.

Assembly Process

What if there are bits missing?

We carry limited small spares and will do everything we can to overcome this situation to ensure your furniture can be built satisfactorily. However, some omissions may prevent completion of the job. In such circumstances we will make every endeavour to complete the job once the missing parts have been received.

What if the furniture is damaged?

We will inspect the parts before and during assembly, and will draw your attention to any damage as soon as it comes to light. A decision can then be made as to how to proceed. In the unlikely event that we damage your furniture, we will ensure we rectify or replace the damage to your satisfaction.

What if I am not happy with the furniture after you have completed it?

In the unlikely event that this occurs, please contact us and we will endeavour to put the problem right. We have a good reputation to maintain and want you to think highly of us. We offer a 12-month guarantee on all our work.

I need help - I'm halfway through a job!

Are you half way through a job and need some help? We can either come and finish it for you or offer some helpful hints so you can finish it yourself. Contact us or your nearest assembler directly. You will be quoted the time to assemble the item as a guideline, but charged for the time taken - often this is less because you have unpacked it and made a start.

Beware the plinth and cornice - what does this mean?

Some manufacturers sell plinth and cornice options (cosmetic enhancements) for £30-£60. While they look nice, they add significant work - typically 1-2 hours extra assembly time (up to 50% more). The improvement to the finished product is minimal. We can install them, but want you to know they significantly increase assembly time and cost.

Commercial Services

Do you assemble commercial furniture?

Yes, we assemble office and commercial furniture. This includes desks, filing cabinets, office chairs, meeting room furniture, and reception furniture. We work with businesses of all sizes and can schedule work outside normal hours to minimize disruption.

Can you work evenings and weekends?

Yes, we offer weekend and evening work for both residential and commercial clients. This is particularly useful for businesses that need furniture assembled outside working hours.

Purchasing Advice

Is it safe to purchase furniture online?

Yes, but take precautions. Ensure you're dealing with a legitimate company's website. Check the site is "secure" (look for the closed lock icon in your browser). Make sure you have an actual address for the company. If purchasing from outside the UK, you may need to pay import duty on top of the purchase price.

What about high wardrobes and ceiling height?

For high wardrobes, please accurately measure your ceiling height. It's easy to hold the tape measure at an angle and get a false reading. We occasionally attend jobs where the unit simply won't fit because height wasn't measured properly. This is particularly notable with IKEA Pax, Rauch, and similar tall wardrobe ranges.
